The Revolution is Spreading!

Iran's Protests

Iran’s Parliament broke out into a death-chanting riot of states men yesterday. Parliament has called for the execution of two men for starting up risings. Their names are Mousavi and Karroubi. Iran’s government is up set because they don’t want another “Egypt” in the Muslim world. Mousavi and Karroubi called for protesters to show up at Azadi Square, and about ten thousand people showed up. Most of the activists, in Tehran, were arrested by the Iranian Government. One person was shot and killed during the protests. Actually the month of January saw a lot of executions in Iran about 66 to be exact, only 3 of those executions had to do with protests. U.N. leaders have called for peace in Iran. I think that the people of Iran should get to protest freely if they want too. I think that Egypt has started a revolution in the Muslim world. I am very curious to see how all of this plays out in the long run. I do believe in people’s basic rights though. Assembly is one of them. Its not like they were rioting they were just protesting. They had no intentions of rioting or starting to erupt like Egypt did. The protests would have been all peaceful if it wasn’t for the government stepping in and stirring them up.

I recieved all of my information from CNN.Com.

  1. WHile the violent turn these protests have taken is unfortunate I think it's great that such much needed revolution is spreading. That part of the world needs a huge 180 and the people are seeing that it happens

  2. I love that these people are finally fighting for their freedom! I hope what happened in Egypt will take those other countries that live trough the same type of conditions to raise up and fight for democracy and basic rights! Iran;s president a very dangerous person that should not be on power.

  3. Whats happenin in the Middle East is not good. The media will tell us night and day that this is just like the American Revolution. NO ITS NOT! Ir's not just the Middle east, it will spread in Europe I heard comments today that England wants to take down the queen. Our own citizens wants to take down our government for a better one? Our founding fathers did not believe in democracy, they believed in a Republic. Their own words said that democracy will kill itself. Democracy is nothing but mob rule. In the words of Karl Marx "Democracy is the road to Socialism"

  4. I feel like this a great blog post. This protesting is like an epidemic, i think this is good for the world, because everyone deserves their freedom. I think people deserve it no matter their race, color, or gender. I think that these dictators are very dangerous people and they use their power to rule over people and finally the people are taking a stand against these evil presidents.

  5. I agree, if protesters aren't doing anything besides protesting for rights, then why is the government using violence to stop them? It only makes things worse and makes protesters angrier. It's just like the civil rights era, where many people tried to protest for their rights and the government tried to stop them from doing so with violence and other things. So there is no win without a struggle and I'm sure the protesters will get what they are fighting for.
